The dust laden gases enter the venturi and get in contact with scrub water sprayed through the venturi throat, the dusty air and the water collide and the water breaks down into droplets which trap the dust particles. The mixture passes through flooded elbow and enters the separator vessel with centrifugal action resulting in removal of the heavy wetted particles from the air stream. The wetted particles (the sludge) are discharged from the separator bottom to the drain and the clean air leave the scrubber through opening at the top of the separator.
